The Swan is surprisingly quiet, despite being an old-fashioned compressor model. We measured it at a fairly moderate 42dB when it was running. It's considerably quieter than models of 10 years ago, and much quieter than many of the refrigerator freezers we've tested in our Best Buy chart.
This fridge also had a high degree of temperature stability. The top shelf, middle and bottom all had an average temperature that was within just a couple of degrees of the maximum temperature. The salad drawer was more erratic, fluctuating between 5oC and just below freezing.
Like the SR11010, the fridge will require an occasional manual defrost, but it is graded A+ for energy efficiency. This makes it one of the most efficient refrigerator freezers in our Best Buy chart, keeping your energy bills low.
